Children and Youth
St. Mary’s is an inter-generational community of faith! We welcome families of all ages, and have a number of ministries to help children and youth get involved in the church and grow in Christ.
Children are always welcome in church, but we have nursery care available at the 10:00 am service so that you and your family can worship in the way that is best for you! Our Nursery care is free of charge to you, and follow’s the Episcopal Church’s Safeguarding God’s Children protocol. For more information about our Nursery, please contact us.
Children from ages 3 – 11 are invited to attend Godly Play, a Montessori inspired Sunday School curriculum. Godly Play teaches children the art of Christian language through parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action, helping them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives. Godly Play begins at 9:45 am in the Godly Play classroom. Children will be greeted by a doorperson and invited to join the circle by a storyteller who will tell the children a story from heart. Children will rejoin their families in the church for communion. For more information about Godly Play, please contact us.
Middle school and high school youth meet regularly throughout the school year for Youth Group for social, spiritual, and service related events. Every summer the Youth Group makes a mission trip with the Sierra Service Project. On fifth Sundays, the Youth Group serves as ushers, lectors and intercessors at the 10:00 am service. For more information about our youth group, please contact us.
